Svetlana is a MS student at MBZUI and is working at SSMC on their data set to refine the Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) prediction algorithm prototype she has built on publicly available data set

Dima Al-Absi, Graduate Research Student at Khalifa University and Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City
Dima is a Phd Student at Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering at KU and working at SSMC to help optimize Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy treatment for AKI . She is also helping optimize other process in detection and management of in hospital AKI

Rawan Abukhater, Internal Medicine Resident at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City
Rawan is the Chief Resident at SSMC Internal Medicine Project. She is in the final year of IM residency and is preparing for her board exam

Mecit Can Emre Simsekler, Health Systems and Industrial Engineer at Khalifa University, Faculty Advisor
Dr. Simsekler's research interests span healthcare management and analytics to improve operational and safety outcomes and accelerate risk-based decision-making. Leveraging management science, data science and systems thinking principles, his research explores innovative approaches and emerging technologies to help healthcare organizations transform their operations strategy, risk management process and organizational culture. Dr. Simsekler teaches courses on operations management, healthcare management and data analytics.

Mohammad Yaqub, AI Scientist, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, Faculty Advisor
Dr. Yaqub was the Vice President of Engineering at Intelligent Ultrasound limited - Oxford [2016 - 2020]. He has led the R&D team to develop state-of-the-art solutions in different clinical applications. His main achievement was the development of ScanNav, the first AI-based fetal anomaly scan assessment system. The product has been exclusively licensed by GE Healthcare and is now in the new ultrasound Voluson Swift machines. Dr. Yaqub’s research interests include medical image analysis (e.g., ultrasound, MRI and CT), deep learning / machine learning, and medical image registration. Dr Yaqub has been granted several research grants funded by different parties such as EPSRC, Innovate-UK, and Philips Healthcare. Furthermore, he acts as a reviewer for several high tier journals and conferences. He has published over 35 peer-reviewed articles in top conferences and journals such as IEEE TMI, Medical Image Analysis, MICCAI and UOG. Siddiq Anwar, Consultant Nephrologist, Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, Faculty Advisor
Siddiq is keen on using data driven decision making in healthcare and process optimization to improve overall health care outcomes. One of his research interests is to reduce the cost of end-stage renal disease management while improving overall outcomes for those suffering with renal disease.
